Temwa - Sustainable Community Development

Temwa began when two backpackers from Bristol witnessed the heartbreaking effects of HIV & AIDS, hunger and poverty in Malawi, Africa and decided to do something about it. Since 2003, Temwa has been working to build a sustainable future for the people of Malawi through community development projects in health education, sustainable agriculture & forestry, schools support and skills training.

In the extremely remote region of Northern Malawi where our projects are based, Temwa is creating hope for rural families and communities by equipping the local population with the skills and resources to ensure ongoing health, education, and financial stability.
Trees for Life Appeal
Right now, deforestation is devastating Malawi. Over 120,000 acres of forest disappear every year, causing severe hardship in a country which is already one of the poorest in the world. Temwa is working to end this problem with the Trees for Life Appeal, an urgent campaign to help us plant 250,000 trees and get to the roots of the problem through educating communities and distributing fuel-efficient stoves this summer in Malawi, Africa. Be a part of a big change, sponsor trees today.
